Here are some cheap, and even free, ways to promote your web page. Most of them only require a little of your time.

How can you promote a web page online on a zero budget?

One of the easiest ways to promote your web page is your email signature. At the end of your emails, place your URL along with a brief tagline that promotes your web page.

Be creative with your tag line. Make an interesting statement related to content on your web page. Or, ask an intriguing question that entices people to come to your site.

Here's another way to promote your page that doesn't cost a penny:

Post on message boards that allow you to include the URL of your page, and preferably at least one or two lines to promote its content.

Many of these forums are indexed by the search engines which can bring you even more traffic.

What about ways to promote you page offline?

Classified ads can be cheap and effective.

One idea is to make your ad appear in reverse print. In this case, it would be white text against a black background. Reverse print, in general, is lighter text on a darker background.

Another way to attract attention is to have your ad appear upside down. When the reader turns the paper around to read your ad, yours will be, in effect, the only one that they see.

Offer something to motivate people to visit your web page. This includes information, resources, or other tools.

Free information advertised online has less impact because it's so abundant on the web. An information giveaway advertised offline has much more impact.

The value is the same - it's how people perceive it.

This is one example of how offline promotion can be even more effective than online promotion.
